Back to Ädnam
With a new copper mine opening nearby, Anna and I expected that our trail run up to Ädnamvaara would be a bit different from in the past but, taking a wrong turn and finding ourselves behind a fence, we ended up having to wade through a bogland with mad amounts of mosquitos and, when trying to get back on the trail, we ran into an assertive reindeer that was blocking our way.
Nevertheless, we eventually made it to the peak for an apple-cinnamon bar and a couple selfie before returning to the car park on a faster trail. Topping up with a thousand meters of pool swimming in the afternoon, Anna’s and my summer training camp is already in full swing. And tomorrow, the plan is to head up to Kebnekaise for an even longer trail run. Meanwhile, when checking my mail, I was excited to find a conditional accept on a journal article that has been under review for a record-long time of 14 months, so some progress on the academic front as well.
