Turning thirteen
Yesterday,
Eddie turned 13, which means we now have an official teenager in the family.
With Anna’s brother and his girlfriend visiting with her two kids, we have had
a full house. Luckily, the weather has allowed us to eat all our meals in the
garden, so it has never felt crowded.
Among his
presents, Eddie got the third novel in The Expanse series, a pair of Marshall
earbuds, and some add-ons to Elite Dangerous – a computer game that, with its vast
galaxy and open-ended space exploration, is the direct crowdfunded descendant of Frontier:
Elite II, a game that sparked countless late-night adventures for me
in the mid-1990s.
Today, we have been out and about again, visiting the Botanical Garden here in Gothenburg, which was absolutely lovely. Though I have been running in nearby Änggårdsbergen a few times, this was actually my first visit, and I must say, the Japanese Glade was truly impressive and I am already looking forward to returning in spring.
